Rehabilitation
In Progress
In 2018, the Mayor’s Office and the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) released a ten-year plan to preserve the city’s public housing. The plan allocates $24 billion toward vital repairs in New York City’s aging public housing to ensure residents have the safe and affordable homes they deserve. As part of this plan, Monadnock Construction contracted ETC to play a small part in achieving this goal by performing extensive renovations of occupied residential units in more than forty NYCHA PACT Renaissance project buildings scattered across fifteen sites in Upper Manhattan.
We are providing residents with complete interior renovation of their apartment units, including new flooring, new doors, as well as modernized and rehabilitated bathrooms and kitchens encompassing new cabinetry, appliances, flooring, painting, among other amenities.
Substantive façade restoration and roof replacement are being undertaken by our team at many of the sites to help maintain safety and longevity, while energy efficient windows are being installed across all sites. We are installing state-of-the-art CCTV and intercom systems to improve resident safety as well as significant landscaping betterments and upgrades to assist in the beautification of the surrounding area. Many new amenities are also being added to certain sites, including basketball courts, upgraded common areas, and new playgrounds.
In the summer of 2023, we expect to complete the 36-month renovation of PACT Renaissance. Our experience and expertise have allowed us to keep a project of this size on schedule, and we expect to complete this renovation as planned.
